Papers, 1901-1958.

Collection consists primarily of travel diaries and commonplace books kept in Europe by Constance Adela (Heath) Gregory of Oakland, Ca., and Richmond, Va., or her aunt, Constance Adela Meeks of California. Included are Gregory's travel diaries of western Europe, 1903 and 1958; a diary, 1907, kept in California and describing her daily activities and social life, especially reflections on boys and clothes; a travel diary, 1957, of trips to California, Oklahoma, and Alaska to visit family; and an appointment book, 1909-1910, kept during her debutante year in Richmond, Va. Meeks' diaries, 1901, 1908, and 1909, provide an account of her activities and travels in western Europe. Also included are three commonplace books, ca. 1901-1910: an alphabetical index of cities listing lodgings and services, notes on the history and culture of Germany and France, and an indexed volume on the history and culture of the Italian cities.
